WHAT IS SHRM?
"Better Workplaces
Better World™"
The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the world’s largest HR professional society, representing 285,000 members in more than 165 countries. For nearly seven decades, the Society has been the leading provider of resources serving the needs of HR professionals and advancing the practice of human resource management. SHRM has more than 575 affiliated chapters within the United States and subsidiary offices in China, India and United Arab Emirates.
Here at the University of Idaho, we motivate, educate, and prepare our members for the Human Resource Profession. Our chapter focuses on "Building Relationships, Creating Futures." We do this by providing guest speakers, informational meetings, and travels.

OUR GOALS
Our biggest goal for the 2019-2020 school year is to increase our involvement on and off-campus. We want to grow and become involved at the University of Idaho and the surrounding community. We have already reached some of those goals by volunteering at the career fair and more. SHRM also has been planning to attend an SHRM convention.
Another goal we strive for is to educate our members and other undergraduates in the College of Business and Economics about the recognized practices in the Human Resource environment. We do this through guest speakers, leadership, and opportunities to speak with HR professionals.
Our final goal is to always expand the SHRM club both in the College of Business and Economics and the University of Idaho's Campus. Membership helps us improve the quality of our education and allows an opportunity to gain experience for a future in Human Resources.
